TORONTO: Rogers Media is planning comprehensive analysis and coverage on air, online and in print to reflect on the events and aftermath of 9/11.

Starting September 7, CityNews will run a three-part series that looks at the stories of two Canadian women who both lost their husbands in the attack on the Twin Towers. CityNews.ca is offering anniversary coverage online with on-demand videos of CityNews at Five anchor Francis D’Souza’s tenth anniversary series looking back on location reactions to the events. On-the-street interviews on CityNews.ca will ask the question “What’s your 9/11 memory?” There will also be an image gallery feature photos of 9/11 events and memorials over the years.

Carl Hanstke, 680News reporter, was in New York covering the aftermath ten years ago. He returns to host a broadcast live from the memorial events in NYC for the Rogers Radio Network. There will also be a Twitter feed pulling in tweets from the public, who were asked to share their 9/11 memories.

Sportnet’s Stephen Brunt will present a video essay on Sportsnet Connected on September 11. Brunt attended many sporting events in NYC after 9/11, including game three of the World Series at Yankee Stadium, where president George Bush threw out the first pitch.

The latest issue of Maclean’s presents a 20-page package that features untold stories of the lives that were changed forever after that fateful day. National editor Andrew Coyne and senior columnist Paul wells debate the success and failures of the world’s response after 9/11. The issue, which hits newsstands September 8, will highlight the results of a poll that had Canadians rank 9/11 compared with other events of the past decade. A live, free-to-the-public town hall discussion, How Has 9/11 Changed the World?, will be hosted by Maclean’s on September 8 as well.
