NEW YORK: Chef Rocco Dispirito has teamed up with Bravo for the development of a weekly cooking competition series, Rocco’s Dinner Party.

The series will watch DiSpirito size up some of the country’s most promising aspiring chefs. DiSpirito will first have four different chefs create their favorite dish, then eliminate one chef. Next, he will announce the week’s dinner party theme, and the three remaining chefs will create an appetizer and present their proposed menu. Only two chefs will be given the opportunity to create a complete menu and decor for the assigned theme. The winner of each episode will receive a cash prize. Notional, an IAC company, will work with Bravo on the project.

"We love this concept because it continues Bravo’s goal of providing additional forums for creative industries like the culinary arts, with a dramatic personality like Rocco DiSpirito at the head of the table," said Cori Abraham, the VP of development at Bravo.
