TORONTO: Robert Hurst is stepping down as president of CTV News and Current Affairs, remaining in the role until a successor is named in the coming weeks.

Hurst became president in September 2002, with oversight for all aspects of CTV’s national, international and local news operations. He has been with CTV for 38 years.

“Bob goes out a winner with CTV News standing tall as Canada’s number one news,” said Ivan Fecan, the president and CEO of CTVglobemedia and CEO of CTV.

“Bob took an already successful news organization and lifted it even higher,” added Susanne Boyce, the president of creative, content and channels at CTV. “In his time as president, he has cultivated our news team, both on-air and off-air, nationally and locally, to become the best there is.”
