Robert Chua’s HLC Inks Shanghai Partnership

HONG KONG, July 7: Health & Lifestyle Channel (HLC), the
Hong Kong-based channel founded by Asian TV veteran Robert Chua, is teaming
with the free-to-air Young Channel in Shanghai for a new weekend lunchtime show
about the two cities.

The series, launching August 2, will explore places of
interest, shops and restaurants in Hong Kong and Shanghai. It is set to air on
Young Channel—reaching a potential 100 million viewers—every
Saturday and Sunday from noon to 1 p.m. According to HLC, the average TV viewing
audience in Shanghai at that hour is 4.2 million. The show will also air in
Hong Kong in prime time. According to Chua, the average prime-time audience in
Hong Kong is 2.5 million viewers.

Young Channel, focused on fashion and lifestyle, reaches
more than 6 million households in Shanghai through cable and satellite
distribution, and is also available free to air via about 100 stations in 28
provinces. HLC is available via Hong Kong Cable TV and Hong Kong Broadband TV.
The channel taps into the expertise of its advisory board to develop its health
and lifestyle programming. The board includes noted anti-smoking campaigner Dr.
Judith Mackay, Australian athlete Ian Thorpe and TV chef Martin Yan.
