Revenues Up at CanWest

WINNIPEG, July 13: Third quarter revenues at CanWest Global
Communications Corp. rose 7 percent to C$738.1 million, but profit was down
from C$13.2 million to C$8.4 million.

"Results for the third quarter were positive, led by
continued growth in publishing revenue and EBITDA and strong growth in
Australian television revenue and EBITDA," commented Leonard Asper, the
president and CEO of CanWest. “Net earnings this quarter declined from the same
quarter last year, as results last year included recovery of income taxes
related to a number of non-recurring items.”

Revenues for Canadian television operations decreased 3
percent to C$182 million. Revenue for Network TEN, the company's Australian
television operations, increased by 21 percent to C$180 million.

"We remain optimistic that the remainder of fiscal 2007
will see continued improvements to our financial results," Asper
continued. "We expect the momentum experienced in our third quarter
results from Network TEN to continue for the remainder of the year, and we will
continue to see the benefit of cost containment at our publishing operations
and the effect of program amortization expense in our Canadian television
operations."
