Record Ratings for New Disney Service

BURBANK: Disney XD, the boy-skewing service that replaced Toon Disney, scored record ratings at launch, with 6.5 million unique viewers in its first day on the air.

A highlight of the launch on Friday was the premiere of Disney XD’s first original series, Aaron Stone, about a teenager enlisted to become the real-life version of a legendary, crime-fighting online game character. It surpassed all series premieres on the former Toon Disney in kids 6 to 14, driven by the target demo, boys 6 to 14. The show increased the average ratings for the slot from a year ago by 208 percent in kids 6 to 14 and by 266 percent in boys 6 to 14. The premiere also aired on Disney Channel, where it secured 1.6 million total viewers.

Disney XD reaches more than 72 million households via its basic cable affiliates.
