Record Numbers for High School Musical Interactive Poll

BURBANK, February 14: Disney Channel viewers across the
world had their say on certain elements that would appear in the sequel to High
School Musical,
with a total of 45 million
votes cast in the interactive online poll “High School Musical 2: Play Your
Part.”

From January 12-31, more than 29 million votes were cast in
the U.S. at www.disneychannel.com,
with approximately 16 million additional votes recorded from Disney Channel
websites around the world. In the U.K. alone, more than 1.5 million British
fans flocked online to vote. Votes cast in other countries include nearly 7.5
million in Latin America, approximately 6 million in the Europe/Middle
East/Africa regions, over 1.1 million in Brazil, 500,000 in Australia, 210,000
in Southeast Asia, 200,000 in Taiwan and 153,000 in Japan.

"High School Musical 2: Play Your Part" invited
kids to vote via their local Disney Channel website on 10 questions relating to
the upcoming sequel. The highest submissions for each question will determine,
among other things, Sharpay's favorite summer drink, what kind of sandwich Troy
packs for his picnic with Gabriella, the type of dessert Zeke bakes for Sharpay
and the clever sayings on Chad's T-shirts. The winning elements will be
revealed when the movie premieres in the U.S. this summer. High School
Musical 2
begins filming in Utah next
month.
