qubo to Debut New Schedule

NEW YORK, November 30: qubo,
the bilingual multiplatform kids’ service, will roll out a range of new on-air
programming next month, and has also expanded its online offerings with several
new interactive applications.

Beginning Monday, December
3, the qubo Channel will premiere a new schedule led by the new animated series
Miss B.G. (short for Big Girl),
which follows a precocious eight-year-old girl who sees it as her mission to
teach her younger brother George the ways of the world. Based on the acclaimed French book
series, Gudule & les Bébés by Fanny Joly, Miss B.G. shares lessons about the importance of family,
learning and fun. On December 3, viewers will also be able to see series like Babar
and Jacob Two-Two every day of the week while Postman Pat joins the qubo Channel’s weekday line-up.

Beginning Friday, November
30, qubo.com will roll out several new online applications, including the
website storytelling tool, Zimmer Twins, where children can create animated mini-movies and have the
opportunity to have their short films showcased on the qubo Channel and the
qubo weekend blocks on NBC, ION and Telemundo.

“In expanding qubo
Channel’s programming on-air and online, we continue to offer a refreshing
alternative in high-quality children’s programming that parents can trust,”
said Rick Rodriguez, the president and general manager of qubo.

qubo is a joint venture
among ION Media Networks, NBC Universal, Scholastic, Entertainment Rights group
companies (Entertainment Rights, Classic Media and Big Idea) and Corus
Entertainment. The qubo Channel
is broadcast in both English and Spanish. In addition to the qubo Channel, qubo
programming is available Friday afternoons on ION Television, Saturday mornings
on NBC and weekend mornings in Spanish on Telemundo.
