Power Unveils Cast, Crew for Crusoe

LONDON, April 21: Philip
Winchester (Flyboys, Thunderbirds) and Anna Walton (The Mutant Chronicles, Hell Boy II: The Golden Army) have been tapped for the lead roles in Power’s
13-part series Crusoe, which is
currently in pre-production for NBC.

Duane Clark (XIII: The
Conspiracy
, CSI: NY) has been named as director, with Jonathan Lee as
production designer. Co-producers are Canada’s Muse and Moonlighting in South
Africa. The series will be shot in the U.K., South Africa and the Seychelles
this spring. Jeremy Zimmerman is the casting director, and Power’s founder, Justin Bodle, is executive producer along with Michael Prupas of Muse and
Genevieve Hofmeyr of Moonlighting.

Commissioned by Ben
Silverman, the co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios,
the event series is a remake of Daniel Defoe’s classic novel that has been
updated for a 21st-century audience. Crusoe tells the perils and challenges of the famous
castaway as he and his native friend struggle to survive on a desert island
with little more than their wits.
