Power, Reveille, Timberlake in Deal for Peruvian Format

LOS ANGELES, March 6:
Power in the U.K. has partnered with Reveille and Justin Timberlake for an
American adaptation of Frecuencia Latina International’s Peruvian comedy My
Problem with Women
, with NBC
ordering a pilot script.

My Problem with Women follows the adventures of Jose, a bachelor in his
30s who begins seeing a therapist in an attempt to understand why his romantic
relationships continually fail. Through his therapy sessions, Jose explores the
universal and often complicated yet humorous issues that highlight the
differences between men and women. The show is based on the Peruvian series
Mi Problema con las Mujeres
, which
was created by Perez Garland, Christian Buckley and Paul Vega and has been sold
to 20 countries around the world.

“We are thrilled to be
working with Justin and Reveille on Power’s first comedy series,” said Chris
Philip, Power’s president of worldwide sales, who spotted the show in Peru
last year and went on to acquire the U.S. rights and negotiate the deal with Frecuencia
Latina International and Reveille. “The appetite in the U.S. for Latin formats
continues to grow and we are delighted with the formidable team that has come
together to produce it.”

The show is produced by
Reveille, Frecuencia Latina International and Power. Executive producers are
Howard T. Owens and Todd Cohen from Reveille, Justin Timberlake, David Schiff,
Chris Philip, Jaime Carbajal and Power’s founder and CEO, Justin Bodle. Miki Ivcher is an associate producer and Jay Weisleder serves as a
consulting producer.

“I am excited to be
collaborating with Reveille to create an American version of this hugely
successful and very funny show,” said Justin Timberlake. This is the first time
that the popular singer and actor will be an executive producer for a scripted
television program.

Added Miki Ivcher, the CEO
of Frecuencia Latina International, “This important venture demonstrates how
Peruvian creative skills and production quality have captivated the best
American producers and stars.”

My Problem with Women offers a clever and hilarious take on the battle
between the sexes,” said Howard T. Owens, the managing director at Reveille.
“With our success in adapting international television programming for U.S.
audiences combined with Justin’s creative instincts as an entertainer and
performer, we are looking forward to developing another mega-hit for NBC.”
