Power Increases Presence in Africa

LONDON, January 6: The
pan-African pay-TV network GTV has picked up a slew of programming from Power's
catalogue and production slate for G Prime, a channel that offers movies,
comedies, kids' shows, documentaries and more.

Among the titles included
in the deal are XIII: The Conspiracy, a two-part action thriller set to air in the U.S. on NBC this month,
and The Day of the Triffids, a
two-part mini-series being produced for the BBC based on John Wyndham's famous
novel.

Eric Muller, Power's sales
manager, said: "We are delighted with this new partnership, this confirms
the demand for the high-quality drama that we are producing and supplying to Africa
and the rest of the world. It is a great honor to be part of this African
synergy."

Julian McIntyre, the
founder and managing director of GTV, commented: "We are always on the
lookout for premium family content appropriate to our G channels and in Power,
we have found an impressive slate of feature films and mini-series ideal for
our family entertainment offering."
