Portfolio Scores Broadcast Renewals for Animated Tween Comedy

TORONTO, February 11: Portfolio Entertainment’s clone-themed
animated comedy series for tweens, Carl2,
has been renewed for an additional season in Belgium and Israel.

The renewals come on the heels of six nominations for the
series in the Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts (Elans),
which recognize excellence in the video game and animation industries.

In Belgium, VRT renewed seasons three and four of the
series, picking up 26 new half-hour episodes for broadcast. Likewise, Noga in
Israel has renewed the fourth season, consisting of 13 episodes.

The tween series focuses on a slacker named Carl Crashman,
who accidentally generates his own clone after venting about his life in his
online journal. Carl soon discovers that the miracle of cloning is only
skin-deep as he scrambles to cover up the trail of chaos that his exuberant
clone, C2, leaves in his wake. The series is produced and distributed by
Portfolio.

Carl2 has evolved
into a worldwide animated phenomenon with industry recognized cross-media
components that have continued to strengthen our global broadcast relationships
in addition to our new media dealings,” said Joy Rosen, the president and
co-founder of Portfolio Entertainment.
