What are some of your top properties for MIPCOM?

 

We’re lining-up a fresh set of suspects for MIPCOM this year. We’re showcasing the culinary masterpiece, Everyday Exotic on the distribution front. Additionally, we will highlight two programs in development: HOOD, a mysterious and supernatural animated tween comedy-adventure series and Chinatown Cops, a prime-time animated comedy featuring Jay Walker and Rick Xia, two self-proclaimed super-cops on the Chinatown beat.
 
 

Why will these programs appeal to buyers?

 

All three of these programs take a unique spin on traditionally popular genres, which sets them apart from the competition. The appeal of Everyday Exotic continues with the engaging host Roger Mooking. Chef Mooking will soon become a household name as he explores exotic ingredients and incorporates them into everyday cooking.
 
Putting an all-new spin on the superhero genre, HOOD is appealing because it’s an original, cross-platform show that follows the exploits of a secret global organization of exceptional teens who don super-charged hoodies to defend the Earth from all manner of weirdness and danger. HOOD is making its MIPCOM debut and is currently in development with TELETOON (Canada).
 
Prime-time animated comedy Chinatown Cops is a fresh satire on the buddy-cop genre. It’s about Jay Walker and Rick Xia, a crime solving duo who will brave any danger and suffer any humiliation to save their home from the talons of the mysterious new crime queen-pin, Honey Moon.
 
 

What are some of the trends you’re currently seeing in this market?

 

The trends we’re seeing today have been happening for some time now. The economy has lead buyers to spend thoughtfully and conservatively. Everyone is waiting for the next big brand that will have a worldwide impact. The positive result is that the creative envelope is being pushed, the bar for quality is being raised and that the industry is turning toward extraordinary content ideas.
 
 

What are your goals and expectations MIPCOM?

Our primary goals for MIPCOM are to continue establishing relationships with new broadcasters, providing high-quality service that keeps our current clients as repeat customers, and to maintain the upward sales trend we’ve experienced over the last two years.
