PorchLight Entertainment, Rounder Records Ink Deal for Girl Authority

LOS ANGELES, May 23: PorchLight
Entertainment has reached a multiplatform deal with Rounder Records to co-develop
a range of programming and merchandise for the Boston-based tween pop group
Girl Authority.

PorchLight will begin its marketing, branding and public
relations efforts at this year’s Licensing Show. Under the agreement,
PorchLight will work with Rounder Records to develop television series, feature
film concepts, specials, a website, direct-to-video programming, merchandising
and an original book series.

Girl Authority is a group of nine girls aged 10-15, each
with an individual identity that ties in with their personalities: Tarr
(Rock-n-Roll Girl), Alex (Fashion Girl), Jacqueline (All-Star Girl), Carly
(Glamour Girl), Jess (Boho Girl), Gina (Urban Girl), Crystal (Country Girl),
Kate (Party Girl) and Zoë (Preppy Girl). The group has sold 100,000 copies and
counting of their eponymous 2006 CD.

William Baumann, PorchLight’s
COO, noted: “Clearly, Girl Authority is a brand that young girls and tweens
strongly identify with. We’ve seen it in the sale of the group’s CDs, the
sizeable audiences at their live shows, as well as the tremendous activity on
their website. The group’s message to be yourself while treasuring friendships
obviously resonates with young girls.”
