Pilot Closes New Sales

LONDON, June 23: Pilot
Productions has secured a number of international deals on a range of
programming, including several for its Globe Trekker franchise.

In Europe, TVE in Spain
and France 5 took on seasons 12 and 13 of Globe Trekker, with Telefonica/Imagineo
in Spain taking on more than 20 hours of the series as well. The French cable
rights for the first six seasons of Globe Trekker have been relicensed to Voyage, which also picked up Best
Treks
. Puls TV in Poland acquired seasons
one and two of Pilot Globe Guides, the
first season of Bazaar and 30-plus
hours of Globe Trekker destinations.

Over in Asia,
Thai PBS Public completed a 43-hour deal for both the Globe Trekker series and Globe Trekker Specials. Metro TV in Indonesia took on seasons
one and two of Pilot Globe Guides. The first season of Planet Food was acquired by iCable in Korea, while
Nippon TV picked up the first episode of the newly produced third season.

OLN in Canada
relicensed Globe Trekker Specials, along with the first two seasons of Globe Guides. Mexico’s KW Entertainment licensed a
minimum of 50 hours of Globe Trekker, while Australia’s ABC took on season 13 of the series.

Eileen Pesah,
the newly appointed head of sales at Pilot Productions, said, “This is just a
sample of the breadth and volume of deals that we have negotiated and closed.
Our ageless catalogue has proven to be continuously popular within this ever
increasingly competitive industry, which is reflected in Pilot’s continuing
growth.”
