Passion Sells Lifetime Titles

LONDON: From its stable of 350 hours of Lifetime Television programming, Passion Distribution wrapped up a number of deals at the recent MIPTV with broadcasters such as MTV Finland, Sky Real Lives in the U.K. and XYZ Networks in Australia.

Launched at MIPTV was Lifetime’s dating show Matched in Manhattan, which features matchmaker Matt Titus giving advice and insight into the NYC dating scene. The show has already sold to MTV Finland, XYZ Networks for their lifestyle channel and Australia and Joongang Q channel in Korea.

DietTribe, which just scored a second-season commission from Lifetime, sold to Sky Real Lives in the U.K. as well as XYZ for Lifestyle. The reality series follows a group of friends who band together to drop serious amounts of weight. Sky has also optioned the format. XYZ Networks also took I Married a Princess, which looks into the life of real-life royalty, for its Lifestyle channel.

Also notching up deals were Head 2 Toe, a makeover show, and Terror at Home, which spotlights domestic violence in the U.S. Both series were sold to Telad Israel. What Should You Do?, about life-threatening situations, went to Baltijos in Lithuania. Zone Reality went for Women Docs, a reality series about females in the world of medicine, for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
