Particle6 Appoints Tom Davidson Chief Commercial Officer

Particle6 appoints Tom Davidson as its first chief commercial officer.

For the past decade, Davidson has been running Niche Media Global, a London-based consultancy that has included ITV, UKTV and PBS among its client base.

Davidson has worked in the international television industry for 30 years, holding various senior management roles, including general manager of Sony Pictures Networks and managing director of A+E Networks UK.

Davidson will work closely with founder and CEO Eline van der Velden. Specifically, he is responsible for devising and implementing commercial strategies to build on its rapidly developing reputation as a leader in AI production, creating scalable models and pricing structures that maximize not only the team’s expertise as a creative resource and business partner but also its proprietary AI tools that help with workflows and production management.

“Through my time as a consultant with Particle6, I have been hugely impressed with Eline and her team and their vision for the future,” said Davidson. “She has grown the company by being proactive and fully embracing the incredible opportunities that AI creates. As a result, the business has become a go-to company for advice and support in the industry, while also developing numerous AI-led projects of its own or in partnership with others. Particle6 is one of the most exciting businesses I’ve seen, and I am thrilled to be on board as Eline’s co-pilot, helping to navigate what I expect to be a largely uncharted yet incredible journey.”

“As a consultant, Tom’s advice and insight added so much value to our business that as we grew, it was a natural next step to invite him to become our [chief commercial officer]—especially as his drive and enthusiasm for the future clearly match my own,” added van der Velden. “Our world is rapidly changing and diversifying all the time. Tom will be a steady hand on the rudder, ensuring we make the best possible decisions for the business—and importantly, have fun doing it!”
