LONDON: Broadcasters across Eastern Europe picked up approximately 85 hours of children’s and factual programming from Parthenon Entertainment at MIPTV.

In Hungary, Origo TV secured a 22.5-hour package for its Ozone Network, while Megamax, Chello Central Europe’s new channel in the country, picked up the 26×30-minute children’s series Dex Hamilton.

Inter TV in Ukraine scored 24 hours of content, including the 12×1-hour series Science Exposed and the 6×1-hour show Generals at War.

Meanwhile, LTV in Latvia picked up an 11-hour package and ETV in Estonia licensed an eight-hour package, with hour-long titles including Wild Baltic, Men Who Swim and Frogs: The Thin Green Line.

Rounding out the Eastern European sales was Discovery Historia in Poland, which acquired a five-hour package, including the hour-long First Pompeii.

Mirjam Muetzel, the head of sales for Germany, Eastern Europe and Russia at Parthenon Entertainment, said of the deals: “This is further proof that Eastern Europe is still an area for growth in TV sales. It also demonstrates that quality programming is of interest to new as well as more established broadcasters.”
