Parthenon Kids Launching New Property

LONDON: Parthenon Kids has signed an exclusive worldwide TV and DVD distribution deal with Norwary’s CreaCon to launch the new property City of Friends at this year’s MIPTV.

Created by Carl Christian Hamre, the CEO of CreaCon Entertainment, City of Friends is a CGI preschool series that features characters from the emergency services: police, fire and ambulance. The 26×10-minute offering is set in a city where citizens, both animals and people, live together and help each other.

Parthenon has secured the distribution rights for TV and DVD worldwide, with the exception of the Nordic countries, in which it has been sold to TV2 Norway, TV2 Denmark, MTV3 Finland and TV4 Sweden, and will launch the series at MIPTV.

"I’m personally very proud that Parthenon Kids will be bringing City of Friends to an international audience," said Hamre. "Something that started as telling good night stories to my children about what I did during the day to keep them entertained has grown to become a really exciting children’s property. The response from both my children and everyone else that got to know City of Friends along the way inspired me to make a TV series."

Marie Chappelow, Parthenon’s commercial director of children’s brands, added: "I was drawn to City of Friends for many reasons. It deals with all aspects of community life and the fact that the animals and people live together side by side will strongly appeal to preschoolers. The series also brings the emergency services together to show all aspects of the community. The production values enhance and reflect the warmth and colourful quality of the characters."
