Oxygen Names New General Manager

NEW YORK, January 18: Oxygen Media, now owned by NBC
Universal, has appointed Jason Klarman as the general manager, effective
immediately.

In addition to managing the channel’s day-to-day operations,
Klarman will work closely with Lauren Zalaznick, the president of Bravo Media
and Oxygen Media, to determine the overall marketing, digital, communications
and sales strategy for the network. He will oversee advertising and digital
sales and the development of all digital content on Oxygen Media-owned
websites, including Oxygen.com, Quizfarm.com, BabyNamer.com, MyOvulator.com and
SheDidWhat.TV. Klarman will also manage brand strategy, consumer and trade
marketing, on-air promotion and creative services.

Klarman comes to Oxygen from Bravo, where he spearheaded the
network’s re-branding in 2005. Under his leadership the network’s on-air and
online look were transformed with its now signature talk bubble logo and “Watch
What Happens” tagline. He was also instrumental in launching shows such as Project
Runway
, Top Chef, The Real Housewives of Orange County and Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List. He also grew the company’s online properties
through new digital launches and acquisitions, ultimately expanding the
viewership from 8.5 million page views per month in 2004 to 90 million page
views last month.

“At Bravo Media, and before that at TRIO network, Jason has
brought innovation and growth to every part of the business he’s touched,” said
Zalaznick. “He thinks big, he thinks strategically, and is extremely effective
at taking an existing brand and bringing it to a whole new level. Oxygen is an
exciting new asset for NBC Universal and presents a tremendous growth
opportunity. I think he’ll do great things for the network.”
