LOS ANGELES: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has a new prime-time series focused on home makeovers, Home Takeover with Simon & Tomas, based on a Scandinavian format sold to the channel by Strix Television.

The entertainment format, originally titled Home Delivery, is being produced for the U.S. by Angel City Factory, part of the Banijay Group. The 6×1-hour series will debut on OWN on March 28. Each episode features design-challenged homes that are nominated by neighbors or loved ones who want to give the gift of style to homeowners. The pair of designers move into the homes, as they completely transform the various houses with the help of a team of contractors and a new design plan.

“Simon and Tomas will take America by storm with their unique sense of style,” said Lisa Erspamer, the chief creative officer of OWN. “The duo are not only skilled interior decorators, but their over-the-top personalities also make them fun to watch as they perform their design magic and literally move into the homes they are helping.”

Mia Engström, the director of Strix International, commented, “This is the first U.S. launch for a Strix format and we are delighted to be working with the executives from Angel City Factory and OWN on this project. Home Delivery is a highly entertaining format and with Sweden’s well-known TV designers Simon and Tomas the show will provide compelling viewing and give a touch of European flavor to the American audience.”
