LONDON: Outdoor Channel is launching in Serbia and Ukraine, following deals secured by Chello Zone.

As the American channel expands into the EMEA market following a joint venture agreement between Outdoor Channel and Chello Zone, it launches this week on Telekom Srbija’s OPEN IPTV as a subtitled channel and on Volia in Ukraine as part of their HD and SD package. It will be dubbed in Russian by the end of 2011.

The channel debuted in Russia in May on NTV-PLUS and on Scandinavia’s TeliaSonera earlier this year. In 2010 it debuted on Orbit Showtime Network in the Middle East.

“With access to TV’s largest outdoor programming library, Outdoor Channel is a huge hit with viewers, and its launch on Telekom Srbija and Volia further expands the channel’s footprint across EMEA,” said Tim MacMullen, Chello Zone’s general manager for Outdoor Channel. “Following hot on the heels of recent debuts for the channel in Russia and Scandinavia, our launches in Serbia and the Ukraine show we’ve got our sights firmly set on an aggressive roll out so as many viewers as possible can experience the thrill of the chase.”

“We are excited to provide our clients with a new TV channel of such a high quality, in both standard and high definition,” said Eric Franke, the CEO of Volia. “We aim to satisfy the constantly growing demands of our subscribers for everything exciting, new and of high quality. We are certain that Outdoor Channel will find its loyal audience and will become one of the most popular channels that are available for our viewers.”
