Orion Completes Acquisition of Tele Columbus

AUGSBURG, November 2: Orion Cable, owner of the German cable
operator ewt, has closed its acquisition of the Tele Columbus group from Unity
Media.

Not included are the former regional companies of Tele
Columbus in Baden-Wuerttemberg and Tele Columbus West, which have already been
transferred to Kabel Baden-Wuerttemberg and ish.

The former managing directors of the Tele Columbus group,
Dr. Herbert Leifker and Parm Sandhu, have stepped down from their duties and
will continue to serve Unity Media, the former parent company of the Tele
Columbus group. The management functions of both executives have been taken
over with immediate effect by Orion's managing director, Robert Fowler.

The deal creates the largest cable system operator of the
network level 4 in Germany, particularly in the regions around Berlin, Hanover,
Hamburg and southeastern Germany. "We are going to position ourselves as
the largest provider for TV, broadband Internet and telecommunication services
in the market of level 4 and will now be in the position to capture the growth
potential in the market," commented Fowler.
