ORF Showcasing New Programming at ATF

VIENNA, November 21: A
handful of new programs, including the music special Christmas in Vienna, will be on offer from the Austrian Broadcasting
Corporation (ORF) for buyers at the upcoming ATF.

Christmas in Vienna is a traditional
Christmas concert that focuses on European traditions. The event features a
range of international guest stars and choirs performing classical music as
well as traditional Christmas songs. Also showcased are the historic
Konzerthaus and other famous Vienna sights, including St. Stephen's Cathedral
and the Figaro House.

Let it Snow… is a documentary focused
on different kinds and situations of snowing, from intense blizzards to gentle
flakes. The project also looks at what snow really is and how it is created,
both naturally and artificially.

Internationally
acclaimed filmmaker Curt Faudon provides an intimate view of the Vienna Boys'
Choir in Silk Road. The program
combines a fly-on-the-wall documentary style with cinematic elements to take
viewers on a journey around the world and even back in time.

"ORF
is present at most of the relevant markets and festivals all over the
world," said Beatrice Riesenfelder, ORF's head of sales and acquisitions.
"The new venue at ATF will be an interesting experience. We hope to
increase the amount of buyer's meetings through the fact that the market will
be broader this year. ORF's documentaries are hugely successful throughout
Asia, and in some territories, the Universum
catalogue is already sold out. We are very honored that Asian viewers
appreciate programs from Austria to such an extent. We do our best to produce
for the international market, however, still keep up with the ORF way, which is
to tell interesting, challenging stories and produce premium quality
only."
