Off the Fence Brings Raft of Factual Programming to Russia

AMSTERDAM, August 21: Off the Fence has licensed a range of
factual programming to channels in Russia, including a deal with NTS for 15
hours of content.

Among the titles in the NTS deal are JFK’s
Women—The Scandals Revealed
, a
one-hour biography for France 3 exploring the legend of JFK; Oldies
But Goodies
, a one-hour journey in search
of Germany’s oldest trees, originally produced for Bayerischer Rundfunk; and Hidden
Worlds—Underground Rome
, an
exploration of the remains of an ‘Eternal City’ entombed since the fall of
Rome.

RTR has acquired Young & Wild, a 13×30-minute series that examines Africa’s animal
babies, and Fantastic Food Factories,
a 2×1-hour series from Michael Hoff Productions celebrating America’s favorite
foods.

The Kultura channel has picked up two programs, The Real
Atlantis
and Guge—The Lost
Kingdom of Tibet
, which both investigate
mysterious kingdoms that disappeared without a trace. The Real
Atlantis
is a one-hour factual program,
originally produced for BBC Timewatch and Arte, which follows archaeologists as
they examine evidence left behind on the island of Crete. Guge—The
Lost Kingdom of Tibet
, by Bang Productions
in association with France 5, Off the Fence, the Media Development Authority of
Singapore and Discovery Networks Asia, travels to western Tibet to explore
hidden treasures.
