PARIS: Novavision has purchased the catalogue and business assets of MEG (Media Entertainment Group), expanding its portfolio of comedic non-verbal clips.

The Scandinavia-based distribution company MEG holds brands such as Bluffing, World’s Funniest Home Video Clips and World’s Funniest Videos. This catalogue is now combined with Novavision’s existing slate, which features more than 300 hours of content and 47,000 clips in the categories of hidden camera, home video, bloopers and comedy sketches.

The new entity, Novavision—MEG, has an expanded sales team, including Nathalie Nenning, who has been hired as sales director.

“We are quite pleased with this move,” said François-Xavier Poirier, founder and CEO of Novavision. “This acquisition will enable Novavision to further secure its geometric growth. Our turnover has more than tripled from 2008 to 2010. Our catalogue has been multiplied by five in terms of hours available and by 12 in terms of library with some 47,000 funny clips. With MEG assets on board, starting with MEG’s booth at MIPTV and MIPCOM, we are very confident that it will rapidly further boost our business.”
