Nickelodeon UK, Canal J Order Genie in the House Episodes

LONDON/PARIS, September 26: Nickelodeon UK and French broadcaster Canal
J have jointly commissioned a third season of the live-action comedy series Genie in the
House
, bringing the total number of episodes available to 78.

The Moi j’aime la television/Helion Pictures series was launched in 2006
with the third season of 26 half-hour episodes currently in production for
delivery this fall. The new episodes will be available at MIPCOM through
Estelle Lafoy at Happy Audience, which already distributes the DVD rights to
the first 52 episodes of the show. Sales of season one have already concluded
in the Middle East and Greece. Moi j’aime la television and Helion Pictures
have taken worldwide DVD and merchandising rights to the new season, which will
also be on offer at MIPCOM.

The first two seasons of Genie in the House have now sold in
more than 100 countries with Italian terrestrial channel Mediaset recently
picking up both seasons for broadcast on Italia Uno. Other broadcasters include
France Television, RTBF in Belgium, SIC in
Portugal, Antena 3 in Spain, MNet Africa and CTC Network in Russia and CIS. The
half-hour comedy series for the whole family has also been picked up in
Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

In Genie in the House, Sophie and Emma move into their new home
with their widower father, Phillip, expecting a quiet, boring life. Instead they
find an old lamp in their attic, and when Emma rubs it with a piece of cloth, a
teenage genie appears.

Genie in the House has been incredibly well received by viewers on
Nickelodeon U.K. and Canal J and we're delighted that both broadcasters will air
the new season soon,” says Steven Bawol, one of the creators of the show. “As
the show starts to roll out in new territories we're experiencing the
international appeal of the show and we're keen to sign new broadcasters now
there are a total of 78 episodes available."

Howard Litton, the
managing director of Nickelodeon U.K., added, “We’re extremely excited about
the third series of Genie in the House and look forward its continued success on our channel. This
commission represents part of the Nickelodeon UK ongoing strategy of increasing
levels of original productions.”
