Nickelodeon is one of several companies to invest in Dreamscape Immersive, a new location-based VR startup that has just closed a $30 million Series B financing round meant to help it expand into new territories.

In addition to Nickelodeon’s financial commitment, the broadcaster is partnering with Dreamscape Immersive to produce an experience using the brand’s IP for kids and families. Other new investors include Majid Al Futtaim, Bold Capital Partners, 21st Century Fox, Warner Bros., VRSense Solutions, Image Nation Abu Dhabi and more.

Returning Series A investors such as Bold Capital Partners, 21st Century Fox and Warner Bros. also participated in the round. Funding will be used to help Dreamscape Immersive scale operations, build a marquee slate of content and continue its expansion around the world.

“We started Dreamscape Immersive with the fundamental belief that strategic partners will be key to our success,” said Aaron Grosky, the COO of Dreamscape Immersive. “This group of existing and new investors, each of whom are leaders in their own respective categories, not only share in our vision but will help Dreamscape Immersive execute and grow. We couldn’t be more excited for what we’re going to be able to accomplish together.”

Dreamscape Immersive was founded in January 2017. Its flagship location will open to the public at Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles next year.
