Nick Latin America Closes New Broadcast Deals for Anime Series

MIAMI, May 21: Nickelodeon Latin America has closed several
key regional broadcast deals for Kappa Mikey, the channel’s first anime series created and produced entirely in the
U.S., by Animation Collective.

Nickelodeon Latin
America has secured deals for the series with broadcasters such as Artear
Channel 13 in Argentina, Antenna Latina 7 in the Dominican Republic, Medcom in
Panama, Megavision in Chile, Compañia Televisora Honduras and Teleamazonas in
Ecuador. These broadcasters represent 17.6 million television households
throughout Latin America, in addition to the 18.5 million cable households that
already can access the program through Nickelodeon Latin America. Currently,
Kappa Mikey can be seen in all
Nickelodeon markets worldwide and is dubbed in more than ten different
languages.

Kappa Mikey is an anime action comedy that chronicles the
madcap adventures of the once-struggling American actor and Cleveland, Ohio
native Mikey Simon as he adjusts to his new role as a big anime star in Japan.

“These partnerships
are a great opportunity for Nickelodeon to enhance exposure of its hit
properties in the region,” said Adeline Delgado, the VP of international
programming sales for MTV Networks Latin America. “The response from our broadcasters has been amazing and we are excited
to partner with them and offer unique and innovative programming like Kappa
Mikey
to complement their
children’s programming grids.”
