New Urban Horror Specialty Label Launching

SACRAMENTO: Deon Taylor Enterprises (DTE) is launching a new genre label, Nite Tales Presents, solely dedicated to producing urban horror films and programming.

Former NBA player Mitch Richmond joins Deon Taylor as a partner in the new venture and will serve as executive producer for the label. TV personality and hip-hop star Flavor Flav his signed on as a reoccurring host and face of Nite Tales Presents. Furthermore, a slew of professional athletes, including former NBA all-star Bobby Jackson and current NFL star Ephraim Salaam, are attached to the new genre label, assuming the role of executive producer along with DTE’s own Roxanne Avent.

The new label will produce feature films and TV series, as well as animated kids’ series and a branded interactive online platform. The first two feature films to be produced and distributed under the Nite Tales Presents banner are Dark Christmas, a two-part anthology, and Terminated, about a tormented airline. Nite Tales: The Series is an original half-hour show, hosted by Flavor Flav, that will feature creepy twists and turns.

“There is a substantial market for original, high quality, urban-themed horror content and Nite Tales Presents is a label created to provide just that, said Deon Taylor, the CEO of DTE. “Audiences will know what to expect when they see something with Nite Tales Presents attached to it.”

Taylor added, “DTE is rooted in the urban market and the launch of Nite Tales Presents is a logical next step for the company. We have the resources and market expertise to deliver branded content with a unique voice—one that speaks to an urban audience. I won’t say that this market is underserved, as there are a great deal of films still finding their way to the marketplace. However, our intention is to raise the bar with Nite Tales Presents and create an enduring brand.”
