New truTV Series Looks at Las Vegas Detention Center

NEW YORK: truTV has greenlit a new show from Langley Productions, the outfit behind such real-life crime series as Cops and Inside American Jail, that will look at life within the confines of Las Vegas’s Clark County Detention Center.

The network has ordered eight episodes of the as-yet-untitled series, slated to premiere in January 2010. The show will follow corrections officers at the Clark County Detention Center who risk their lives every day to maintain a stable environment in a packed facility. The series is being executive-produced by John Langley and Morgan Langley. For truTV, Robyn Hutt is executive in charge of production, while Jessica Shreeve is executive producer.

"truTV’s brand promise to viewers is that we will take them places they might never experience in their own lives," said Marc Juris, the executive VP and general manager of truTV/IN SESSION. "This series is a perfect chance for people who may never set foot inside a jail to see what life is really like behind bars."
