New Ricky Gervais-Stephen Merchant Comedy in the Works

NEW YORK: Life’s Too Short, a new comedy from The Office co-creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, is currently in production for a debut on BBC Two later this year and on HBO in 2012.

The seven-episode series is being done as a mockumentary, following actor Warwick Davis (Willow, the Harry Potter and Star Wars films) as a fictionalized version of himself. Davis is a little person who is down on his luck and trying to hustle his way back into the spotlight. Guest stars for the series’ first season include Johnny Depp, Sting and Steve Carell, along with Gervais and Merchant. Cast regulars include Jo Enright and Rosamund Hanson.
