New Media Fund Launches in Singapore

SINGAPORE, December 10:
Salon Media Management has launched a S$100 million fund for the production of
film, TV and animation content and related games over the next five years.

"It is our hope that
this new fund will not only aid productions between Asia filmmakers and
Singapore's new media makers but will also propel Singapore into the pioneering
of structured media finance and
film services, to provide the required support and funding for Asia media makers," said Fred Wang, the
chairman of Hong Kong's Salon Films Group.

With legal, financing,
insurance and co-production services out of Singapore, the fund aims to open
doors to international outfits eyeing the production of feature films in the
region.

Salon's fund, together
with the recently announced US$400 million film fund from RGM Entertainment,
form part of the S$1 billion in financing available for media projects out of
Singapore.
