New Head of Factual at Parthenon

LONDON: Richard Sattin takes on the role of head of factual at Parthenon Entertainment with immediate effect.

Sattin will be responsible for developing new factual programming and supervising documentary production. He was formerly the managing director at Principal Films and head of documentaries at Darlow Smithson. He is also the creator of award-winning programs such as Hardcore (Channel 4), Connections (TLC), Concorde (BBC) and Gunpowder Plot (ITV).

The appointment follows recent commissions for Parthenon from Five for The Lost Symbol: Truth or Fiction, and National Geographic Channels International for Mystery Files, which Sattin produced for Parthenon.

Sattin said: “Parthenon has an undisputed reputation for high-end programming and established links with broadcasters around the world. It’s also an energetic and fun place to work and I’m looking forward to doing what I feel I do best—generating and supervising quality series and single documentaries.”

The director of production at Parthenon Entertainment, Danny Tipping, added: “Since Richard came on board to oversee our original series Mystery Files he has proved himself to be an extremely creative talent. In addition, his experience in producing for domestic and international markets means he is a great addition to our team. I’m sure his combination of experience and creativity will further strengthen Parthenon’s image as a producer of quality factual programming.”
