LOS ANGELES: Reed Manville has been named executive VP of international channels at CBS Studios International, reporting directly to the company’s president, Armando Nuñez.

In this newly created role, Manville will be responsible for overseeing CBS’s international channel strategy, and will be based in Los Angeles. Earlier this week, the the company announced a new joint venture with Chellomedia to create CBS-branded platforms in the U.K. As part of his new position, Manville will serve on the new board that is being formed to help guide strategy and direction for the new venture. In addition to supervising the new venture in the U.K. and identifying potential new platforms, Manville will also oversee CBS’s interest in its two Australian channels, TV1 and Sci Fi.

Manville was executive VP of international channels at CBS Paramount International Television from 2004 to 2005, and most recently CBS Studios International was a client of Manville’s consulting company, where he worked with Nuñez to establish the just-announced U.K. alliance with Chello.

"We’re thrilled to welcome Reed back to CBS," said Nuñez. "He’s an executive with a tremendous resume of experience and accomplishment in the worldwide channel business. The expertise and relationships he brings to the table will be major assets as we seek to create more programming and revenue platforms for CBS around the world."

"I am delighted to be part of CBS, one of the world’s great broadcasters and leading distributors of programming worldwide," added Manville. "I look forward to working with Armando and his team to identify and develop additional international opportunities for the tremendous programming assets throughout CBS."
