BURBANK: Bringing the legend of King Arthur and his court into a contemporary high-school setting, Avalon High is a new original movie from Disney Channel that is currently in production in New Zealand.

Avalon High stars Britt Robertson (Life Unexpected) and Gregg Sulkin (Wizards of Waverly Place). Robertson plays Allie Pennington, a new student at Avalon High, whose parents are traveling professors specializing in King Arthur’s legend. She slowly begins to discover that the students at her new school have interesting parallels between the past and the present, and she becomes convinced that she is attending class at a contemporary Camelot. The story is based on a book by Meg Cabot.

Slated for a fall debut, Avalon High was written by Julie Sherman Wolfe (JONAS, Phil of the Future) and is directed by Stuart Gillard (Hatching Pete, 90210). The movie is a production of Sudden Motion Productions and Ranger Productions.
