New Deals for Lightworks

NEW YORK: Martin Sheen has signed on to narrate the new one-hour documentary One Water, which Lightworks Program Distribution holds worldwide rights for.

The film spotlights one of our planet’s most previous natural resources, which is often taken for granted. One Water, filmed in 15 countries, combines expert commentary with visual sequences and local music to explore what water means to our planet and how it important it is to preserve it.

"Lightworks Program Distribution is proud to be associated with such a powerful and beautifully produced documentary that has an important story to tell and is sure to inspire audiences worldwide," commented John Cuddihy, the president of Lightworks Program Distribution.

In a separate deal, Lightworks took on the U.S. distribution rights for the entertainment dramedy Out There with Melissa DiMarco. The company already holds the international distribution right for the series, which parodies the genre of entertainment journalism.

"Lightworks is extremely pleased to be expanding our association with Melissa DiMarco," said David Dreilinger, the president and CEO of Lightworks Enterprises. "We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Melissa DiMarco, the creative force behind this unique combination of Hollywood journalism and comedy. We will give the series the proper exposure it deserves in the U.S. in addition to looking to generate new commission opportunities with domestic broadcasters."

"We are honored that Melissa DiMarco has entrusted our company with the worldwide distribution rights to her show and are confident that the proven success of Out There will continue to attract the attention of broadcasters and viewers alike around the globe," added Cuddihy.
