New Deals for BabyFirstTV

LOS ANGELES: BabyFirstTV has expanded its reach with a launch in Portugal, and has appointed Vivendi Entertainment Canada as its exclusive Canadian DVD distributor.

Offering the full 24/7 BabyFirstTV channel broadcast in English and soon Portuguese, ZON TVCabo is making the channel available to subscribers as part of its extended basic package. "We are extremely proud to join with ZON TV/Cabo as our channel’s newest top-tier international media partner and look forward to working closely with their outstanding team in launching BabyFirst to young families across Portugal," said Guy Oranim, the CEO of BabyFirst.

The child-development channel has a line of companion DVDs as well to complement its 24-hour, commercial-free linear service. Vivendi Entertainment Canada will represent the line of developmental DVDs in Canada, where its first scheduled release will be I Can Sign, which teaches babies key words in sign language to develop their communication skills. "Canada is a very important market for BabyFirstTV, and we were very choosy on who we would work with to represent us in this market," commented Jeffrey Quinn, the senior VP of sales and marketing for BabyFirstTV. "Vivendi Entertainment Canada ranks among the most prestigious home-entertainment distributors, and we are proud to have our line exclusively represented in Canada by this renowned company."
