New Chief for DAIT Asia-Pacific

HONG KONG, January 14: Rob Gilby has been tapped as the new
senior VP and managing director of Disney-ABC International Television,
Asia-Pacific, filling a role vacated by Steve Macallister last year.

Gilby previously served as the managing director of Disney
Channel UK,
Scandinavia and Emerging Markets. His successor has not yet been
determined.

Announcing the move, Ben Pyne, the president of global
distribution at Disney-ABC Worldwide Television and Disney Media Networks,
said: “Rob is the ideal person to continue to build our company’s media
business in the Asia-Pacific region given his past media experience in the area
and his recent success with our Disney Channel businesses in England,
Scandinavia, Poland and South Africa. I could not be more delighted that he has
agreed to bring his expertise and energy back to Hong Kong and our business in
that important region for our Company.”

This
marks Gilby’s return to the Asia-Pacific region: prior to joining Disney
Channel’s European operations in 2006, he was VP of network development and
strategic marketing at Turner Entertainment Networks Asia.
