New Broadcast Sale for Taffy’s Twisted Whiskers

PARIS, June 10: Taffy
Entertainment has sold its new CGI-animated series Twisted Whiskers to French broadcaster Canal+.

Now in production, Twisted
Whiskers
is slated for an early
2009 debut. Produced by Mike Young Productions (MYP) and DQ Entertainment, the Twisted
Whiskers
TV series is based on the
American Greetings greeting-card line featuring a “twisted” bunch of cats and
dogs. Launched in 2001, it became the fastest-selling summer social expressions
line ever developed by American Greetings. The greeting-card line has also
spawned a merchandise program in the U.S. and Australia, attracting stationery,
plush and automotive accessories consumers.

“It’s a testament to the
strength of American Greetings and the Twisted Whiskers brand that a high-profile broadcaster like Canal+
has signed on so early in the production process,” said Lionel Marty, the
president of worldwide sales for Taffy Entertainment.
“We have received interest from a number of major broadcasters and we
anticipate new deals will be announced soon. This is a hilarious show with some
of the most lovable and addictive characters to enter the marketplace in quite
a while. It’s going to be a hit with kids for a long time to come.”
