VANCOUVER: TELETOON in Canada has signed up with Nerd Corps Entertainment to develop the new 3D 52×11-minute comedy Endangered Species.

Geared to kids aged 6 to 11, the show follows the antics of a recently liberated pet bunny and a stump-winged seagull as they try to survive in a wilderness that’s becoming more urban all the time.

“We were immediately drawn to the show’s silly, absurd humor and goofball main characters,” said Alan Gregg, the director of original content at TELETOON. “It’s exactly the type of character-driven comedy series that works so well with TELETOON’s kid demo who want something more sophisticated and irreverent, but above all, fun."

The show’s creator, and "Supreme Commander" at Nerd Corps, Asaph Fipke, added, “We loved the idea of this group of animals who are having a great time in the wild in spite of both mother nature’s and humanity’s inadvertent efforts to wipe them out. The humor’s pretty irreverent, and the two main characters are just fun to work with. They’re pretty much insane.”
