Nelonen Makes Organizational Changes

HELSINKI: A number of organizational changes have been put in place at Finland’s Nelonen Media, including shuffling within its staff and the merging of divisions.

Kristiina Werner-Autio has been appointed senior VP of television operations. Werner-Autio was previously senior VP in charge of the commercial channels Nelonen, Jim and Liv. The appointment puts her in charge of Nelonen Media’s TV channel portfolio, including the pay-TV channels Nelonen Pro 1, Nelonen Pro 2 and Kino TV. Her remit also includes the TV channels’ programming strategies in all distribution channels. Werner-Autio reports to Hans Edin, the president of Nelonen Media.

Elina Piepponen, previously the programming manager at Nelonen Media, is now the channel manager of Channel Four Finland for Nelonen. Ville Toivonen continues as channel manager for Jim, Katja Santala as channel manager for Liv, and Jorma Paakkari as channel manager for the Nelonen Pro Channels. The channel managers report to Werner-Autio.

Ville Nylund has been appointed programming manager for Nelonen Media. As part of the changes in TV operations, Nelonen Media has created a rights acquisition and administration unit, which will be led by Anne Nokelainen. She comes to Nelonen Media from the legal affairs department of Sanoma Entertainment. She will report to Werner-Autio. Tiina Karo will continue as head of acquisitions for international programming. She will report to Nokelainen.

Nelonen’s media communications group will be merged with sales and marketing, headed by Pia Kalsta. The combined division will contain sales, marketing and communication. Paula Rintamaa will continue as press manager. Pirjo Airaksinen, the senior VP of content, will move to Sanoma Entertainment, where she will be in charge of international projects for television operations.
