NCIS: Los Angeles Heads to Viasat

CANNES: CBS’s new hit series NCIS: Los Angeles is headed to Scandinavia on TV3, with CBS Studios International licensing the exclusive free-TV rights to Viasat Broadcasting.

Viasat will air the show in the spring of 2010 on TV3 in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Starring Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J, the series premiered in the U.S. to some 18 million viewers. Viasat has also been airing the original NCIS, which returned to the CBS schedule last month with more than 20 million viewers. Viasat and CBS Studios International have renewed a multiple year licensing deal for current and library television product for broadcast in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, including season seven of NCIS. The package also covers season 12 of America’s Next Top Model, renewals on talk shows such as Dr. Phil (Norway and Denmark), The Oprah Winfrey Show (Sweden and Norway) and The Doctors (Denmark), and the re-licensing of Everybody Loves Raymond (Sweden and Denmark), King of Queens (Norway) and Star Trek: The New Generation.

Viasat recently nabbed the exclusive free-TV rights to a broad range of current/library feature films and television product from NBC Universal International Television Distribution for broadcast in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
