NBC Universal Names Chief Digital Officer

NEW YORK, August 2: George
Kliavkoff has been named as NBC Universal's first chief digital officer, a post
that will see him bolstering the company’s digital media strategy and
overseeing broadband and wireless initiatives as well as the Digital Studios, which
develops new media content.

Kliavkoff will assume his
new role in September and will be based in New York at NBC Universal
headquarters. He reports to Beth Comstock, the president of NBC Universal
Digital Media and Market Development.

He joins NBC Universal
from Major League Baseball Advance Media (MLBAM), where he was responsible for
new media licensing and business development.
