NBC to Launch New Reality Competition Series

BURBANK,
September 27: NBC is set to launch My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad, a new reality
competition series from Mark Burnett Productions (Are You Smarter Than a 5th
Grader?)
and Reveille (The Biggest Loser).

The
eight-episode series is slated for a mid-season launch. In the new series, dads
will be at the forefront of the action competing with their families in a
series of unique stunt-driven challenges. In the end, the triumphant family
will walk away with money for their children’s futures, and bragging rights.
Likewise, valuable prizes will be given away as the competition progresses.

My
Dad Is Better Than Your Dad was created by Jon Hotchkiss and is a production of
Reveille, Mark Burnett Productions and Hotchkiss Industries. Mark Burnett (Survivor, Are You Smarter
Than a 5th Grader?), Roy Bank (Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?), Mark Koops (The
Biggest Loser), Howard Owens (The Biggest Loser) and Jon Hotchkiss (Penn &
Teller: Bullshit!) are the executive producers.

"Every
kid thinks their dad is the best, and this series is designed to let them see
who really is top dog on the block," said Craig Plestis, the executive VP
of alternative programming, development and specials at NBC Entertainment.
"Plus, the children will benefit with prize money that can be used for
their future education. I also feel very confident because this series is in
the capable hands of Reveille and Mark Burnett Productions, who are the 'big
daddies' of the reality genre."
