NBC Renews Ellen for Three Years

BURBANK, August 11: The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been renewed through the 2009-2010 season by
NBC-owned and operated stations in 10 major TV markets including New York, Los
Angeles and Chicago.

“We’ve believed in Ellen and this series from the very
beginning,” said Dick Robertson, the president of Warner Bros Domestic
Television Distribution. “We’re glad that our partners at NBC shared our belief
and gave this series the opportunity to become a prestige property and a
defining series for NBC daytime, popular with stations, viewers and
advertisers.”

The show has also been renewed in Philadelphia, San
Francisco, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Miami, San Diego and Hartford. It has
received three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Talk Show, and reaches more
than 13 million viewers each week. The series’ rating has grown from a 1.1
among women 18-49 during its first season (2003-2004) to a 1.5 in the current
year; among women 25-54, the series has moved from a 1.2 to a 1.7.
