NBC Offers Up Psych, Announces Series Renewals, Madonna Concert

BURBANK, July 24: Two episodes of USA Network’s new hit
series Psych will be rebroadcast on NBC
next month. The network has also announced renewals on America’s Got
Talent
and Last Comic Standing, and has unveiled plans for a concert special with
Madonna for this fall.

Psych premiered as
the highest-rated new scripted series on basic cable this year, averaging 6.056
million viewers overall. It focuses on Shawn Spencer, who uses his acute
observation skills to solve crimes—while feigning that he is a psychic.
NBC will air the rebroadcasts on August 7 and 14 at 8 p.m.

Madonna: The Confessions Tour Live is a two-hour special set to air in November. It
will be taped this summer at Wembley Stadium during the 25-city
"Confessions Tour", and is produced by Blackdog Films.

In terms of series renewals, America's Got Talent is to return to the schedule midseason, while Last
Comic Standing
will be back next summer.
Kevin Reilly, the president of NBC Entertainment, noted, "Both of these
series have been bright spots on the summer television landscape. We think
they'll be around for a long time."
