NATPE Announces Lineup for TV Producers’ Boot Camp

LOS ANGELES, July 12: The
National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) will be holding
its fifth annual TV Producers’ Boot Camp at the House of Blues and Comedy Store
in Los Angeles on July 26 and July 27.

Designed to connect
participants with chief development executives, television producers and agents
by conducting panels, hands-on writing and media branding clinics, as well as
pitch development sessions, the Boot Camp is the central event of the inaugural
LATV Festival.

“NATPE is delighted to
once again provide the next generation of content creators with direct access
to our industry’s most influential decision makers while at the same time
offering development executives access to some of the most talented emerging
producers,” said Rick Feldman, NATPE’s president and CEO. “The hands on
face-to-face networking opportunities over these two days are of tremendous
value to both aspiring producers and companies seeking those who will help
shape the future of our business across all platforms.”

At the heart of the Boot
Camp is an event called The Pitch Pit, in which writers and developers receive
one-on-one pitch meetings with development executives from over 40 broadcast
and cable networks, talent agencies, digital platforms and production and
distribution companies. Among the organizations attending are Atlas Worldwide,
Fox Reality, Granada America, Hallmark Channel, Hearst Entertainment, Lifetime
and Starz.

To kick off the event, the
Boot Camp State of the Industry session will open with a keynote address
delivered by Sean Perry, the head of alternative television at Endeavor. He
will be joined for a state of the union discussion by Denise Cramsey, executive
producer on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition at Endemol USA; Thom Beers, the creator/executive producer of Deadliest
Catch
and Monster Garage at Original Productions; and Craig Piligian, the
executive producer of UFC, Ghost
Hunter
and Dirty Jobs at Pilgrim Films & Television.

The speaker lineup also
includes John Ferriter, the senior VP and worldwide head of nonscripted
television at the William Morris Agency; producer Stuart Krasnow; David Lyle,
the president of Fox Reality Channel; and Ian Moffitt, the VP of programming
and content strategy at BBC Worldwide Americas, among others.
