National Lampoon Acquires Comedy Express

LOS ANGELES, February 12: National Lampoon has acquired the
assets of Comedy Express, a comedy media company that features content from
well-known and emerging comic talent across broadband, wireless and television.

Under the terms of the agreement, Comedy Express will become
part of National Lampoon’s broad young-adult distribution platforms. This
platform includes the National Lampoon College Network, which reaches nearly
one in four of all 18- to 24-year-old college students in America today. The
sum of the transaction was not disclosed.

In the past two years Comedy Express has launched its
broadband TV channel, comedyexpresstv.com, which has been part of the National
Lampoon Humor Network, and produced comedy events across the country that have
been packaged for DVD release. These events included last year’s successful
nationwide College Comedy X Tour.

“Comedy Express did a great job of recognizing emerging
comedic talent, with unique, original voices and points of view, along with
building multiple distribution points,” said Daniel Laikin, the CEO of National
Lampoon. “This deal will enable National Lampoon to ‘adopt’ Comedy Express’
comedians and content, as well as harness its distribution relationships and
experience in staging nationwide comedy events.”
