National Geographic Channel US Acquires ZDF Docs

MAINZ, March 13: ZDF
Enterprises has sold a trio of documentaries to National Geographic Channel in
the U.S.: China's Great Wall, China's
First Emperor
and The Real
Neanderthal Man
.

China's Great Wall and China's First Emperor were produced in HD by Gruppe 5 Filmproduktion for
ZDF and ZDF Enterprises.

"Shot in HD and with
multi-million-dollar budgets, the two China documentaries were co-produced with
NGC-US’s global sister network, National Geographic Channels International, and
reflect the highest standards in documentary making,” said Fred Burcksen, ZDF
Enterprises' VP of distribution, merchandising and investments. “The truly
exceptional quality of these programs benefited from exclusive cooperation with
China Central Television, which provided access to intriguing material, lavish
sets and costumes, abundant personnel and technology. And the collaboration
with NGCI ensured the highest degree of accuracy and exceptional story telling,
as with any National Geographic production. The Real Neanderthal Man was produced entirely in-house and includes the
newest findings on one of mankind’s oldest relatives. We are utterly thrilled
that National Geographic Channel is bringing these three programs to television
across the U.S."
